18 months after being found “Not Guilty” of her daughter’s death, Casey Anthony has filed the paperwork necessary for starting the bankruptcy protection process. The motion was filedin U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and according to that filing (as reported by the Associated Press), Anthony owes approximately $800,000, consisting of legal fees, debt to the IRS, and court costs.
That sum also encompasses the amount Casey Anthony is being held responsible for due to the investigations by public law enforcement and private agencies that took place in response to her daughter’s death.
Additionally, Anthony is being sued by the woman that shares a name with the fictitious nanny described to investigating authorities. Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez claims that she was evicted and lost her job as a result of the deceptive story and is suing for damages.
Casey Anthony has all but vanished from the public eye in the months since her aquittal, and there has been no information on how she is generating income, or a definite employment.
