On Friday, staff from the Daily Broward joined with many attendees as Broward County officially welcomed their 9 newest judges to the bench. In a Broward Courthouse ceremony filled with sentiments of gratitude, humility and appreciation to family and friends, the newest Circuit and County Judges officially took on their robes.
Around 400 hundred people attended including many Florida state legislators, prominent local elected officials like County Commissioners Marty Kiar, Charles “Chip” LaMarca, and Tim Ryan.
Each of the newly-robed Judges took the podium to thank friends, family and political operatives who supported and inspired them to take the steps needed to become a judge.
Added to the Broward Circuit Court were:
Judge Tim Bailey, Judge Lynn Rosenthal, Judge Michael Rothschild, Judge Elizabeth Scherer, Judge Ari Porth, and Judge Laura Watson.
Added to the Broward County Court were:
Judge Olga Levine, Judge Kathleen McHugh, and Judge Christopher Pole.
With many happily emotional moments, each of the judges demonstrated the wit and wisdom that earned them robes. Following the ceremony there were many congratulations and celebrations as the judges took time to shake hands and talk with attendees.
