On Tuesday morning, Miami Herald political reporter Marc Caputo tweeted about a recent encounter with a Broward Republican. Caputo wrote, “A Broward Republican hires a PR firm to see if I want to quote him in the governor’s race. The levels of clueless arrogance are many.” It appears the “Broward Republican” wanted some free media tied to tomorrow night’s gubernatorial debate in Davie.
Peter Scorsch of Saint Petersblog incorrectly guessed former U.S. Senator George LeMieux. The only remaining “Broward Republicans” are former State Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff, State Rep. George Moraitis and Broward County Commissioner Chip LaMarca.
Last week, REDBROWARD reported LaMarca gave $12,000 to the PR firm behind Charter Schools USA. This “gang that couldn’t shoot straight” operates LaMarca’s @ElectChip Twitter account. Employees of Outside Eyes/Benjamin Porritt LLC/Lift Social Media/E-Marketing have interjected themselves in online advertisements, masquerading as average voters.
Sources tell REDBROWARD that Moraitis does not employ a PR firm. And we’re pretty sure Bogdanoff wouldn’t pull this bush league move either.
